Lodging and Transportation

Just because there is no scheduled transportation back from Champaign to Chicago, that doesn't mean we're going to leave you hanging in the wind.  Here are some options for getting back home and spending the night in Champaign.

Train

Amtrak

The Saluki (departs at 10:14am) and the Illini (departs at 6:49pm) both allow up to 4 bikes on the train, but you must have a reservation.  The City of New Orleans (departs at 6:10am) allows bikes, but they must be checked and in a box.

Update!  Amtrak are doing some kick-ass things with bikes on trains.  Check with them to see if you can use one of their new bike-friendly baggage cars.

Buses

Greyhound

There are lots of options for taking the Greyhound from Champaign to the Chicago area.  However, bikes must be boxed and subject to additional fees.

At this point, none of the other bus companies (Megabus, Suburban Express, IlliniExpress, etc.) can accommodate bicycles.

Hotels

Good location with a pool, hot tub, and a bar.
A little bit cheaper than Hilton with a pool.
